Forgetting could cost you a £1,000 fine
Did you know, you can request a free email reminder every year before your next MOT is due? Simply visit the government’s website and sign up for reminders – you’ll just need to give an email address and the registration number of a vehicle.
You’ll need to activate the reminder service via a link which you’ll be emailed after signing up. You’ll then get the reminder a month before your MOT’s due and again two weeks later if you still haven’t had your MOT.
With fines of up to £1,000 for not having a valid MOT, forgetting could prove costly, so this free reminder should be a no-brainer for anyone who has a tendency to forget about these things.
You can unsubscribe from the reminders service at any time.
For some, it might be useful to get someone else’s MOT reminders – eg, for an elderly or vulnerable relative – and you can do this by simply entering their registration number with your email address.
For our existing customers we do send out courtesy reminder letters in the post for those who are not so tech savvy!.
